P.A.P.A.S. Housing establishes and/or acquires residential properties for the purpose of neighborhood development and addressing blight in the community. Families participating in a P.A.P.A.S. House perform
"sweat equity" (maintenance and upkeep) of the property in exchange for rent. Our philosophy is as simple as ABC: Tuming Abandonment into Attraction, Changing Blight into Beauty. Replacing Corrosion with Character

AbOUT US

P.A.P.A.S. is focused on revitalizing the Flint and Genesee County Community. We believe our City can thrive if we all simply, Pick a Place and Start.

Each of P.A.P.A.S's programs is based on the principles of asset-based community development. Our programs and projects embrace our belief that the residents of the City of Flint, especially the young people, have the inherent vision and ability to transform their neighborhoods. For P.A.P.A.S., at-risk children and teens are not bundles of problems – they are wellsprings of solutions.

SUPPORT

When you donate to P.A.P.A.S., you help to end the cycle of misfortune and open a window of opportunities for our community to succeed.

Our Programs

The Annual Women in Power (WIP) Summit is a signature program of the nonprofit 501(c)(3) PAPAS,
Inc., presenting sponsor of the Conference.  This life-changing event is the Midwest region’s new forum
to promote women’s personal and professional development and advancement.  The purpose of our
WIP Summit is to inspire women to seek their highest level of personal and professional growth by
presenting participants with role models, varying perspectives, and strategies for development.

An entrepreneurial training program for current and potential business owners in our community. This program is dedicated to empowering people to be bold and brave enough to help curve the economic status of our community by building businesses with wisdom and integrity.

The After School Cafe provides a safe place for training and education. The extra burden on school districts and the lack of resources is a clarion call for someone, some agency, or the community at large to hear and respond. We have heard the cry and are offering a means to close the lack of resource gap and help prepare our community's future leaders at the After School Cafe. The components of the Cafe include a computer center, resource library, math lab, space for test preparation and tutoring and a language lab. A space in the Cafe will be dedicated to leadership training and academic success workshops.
